Os 10 maiores fabricantes de automóveis em 2019

Na última década, o setor automóvel tem sofrido mudanças drásticas sucessivas que influenciaram a lista dos 10 maiores fabricantes. Em 2010, a General Motors dominava as vendas há décadas, graças ao extenso portefólio de marcas associadas. Acontece que com as vendas em queda e a acumular prejuízos, a GM chegou à beira da bancarrota. Na última década, a marca perdeu espaço de mercado e até algumas marcas (com a Opel a ser vendida ao Grupo PSA), acabando por perder uma quota de mercado de 12,5% em 2010 para 9,6% em 2018; em 2019, a GM ficou em quarto lugar, ocupando a quarta posição do ranking.

As vendas mundiais de carros são agora dominadas por três fabricantes, em 2019: o grupo Volkswagen, com 12,2% da quota de mercado, o grupo Toyota, 11,4%, e a aliança Renault-Nissan, com 10,9%, segundo dados do Focus2move.
